Is The Returned, aka Resurrection Similar to My Book, The Unfinished?

My sister wrote me today saying a story similar to mine was on Amazon and that perhaps it was a copyright infraction. I checked it out, but she was mistaken, thank goodness.

The book is called #THERETURNED by #JasonMott. It’s actually the story of a young child that returns home after being dead for 30 years. I explained to my sister that this book is actually the source material for ABC’s THE RESURRECTION.

Although both our stories deal with the dead returning, my story, THE UNFINISHED is about people being brought back from the dead to testify against their killers in the year 2232. They also only have 72 hours to live. The story is film noirish with 1940’s speak, yet also futuristic.

So, our projects are completely different. I surly hope Jason Mott’s series does well on ABC and holds it’s impressive audience numbers so that other networks will be looking for similar projects. It is also very satisfying to see another person of color do well within the industry.
